The British Shotokan Karate
Institute was established in 2002. The aim of the BSKI is to combine the
philosophy of Master
Gichin Funakoshi with the karate teachings of
Sensei Masatoshi
Nakayama. All the senior instructors of the association continue to
train under the best of today's japanese instructors. Students of the
association also have the opportunity to train under these instructors. We
adhere strictly in our teaching to the kihon and kata as originally taught
by Nakayama Sensei. We are involved with an extensive network of foreign
karate-ka whose aims, objectives and standards match ours. As such we
welcome a liaison with any serious martial artist or group with the same
values. We offer the opportunity to contribute to a non-political, sincere
organisation, to share knowledge and to compete at international level. |
